TOURS IN MARCH, APRIL AND EARLY MAY 2021 WILL BE RESCHEDULED
We have reviewed the stages and the earliest we can hope to restart tours is from 17 May, which is when groups of up to six people can mix indoors again and hotels can re-open.
This means that we have postponed all tours that were taking place before this date. We are now working with our guides, travel partners and hotels to confirm new dates as quickly as we can.
We have already set a new date for our Medieval Churches of the Cotswolds tour, which has moved back seven days to start on 21 May 2021.
We have also postponed our Three Kings in Ireland tour, which was due to depart on 25 May. Ireland is unlikely to reopen its borders to UK travellers before this date, so we think it is helpful to make our decision now.
If you have booked a place on any tour that has been cancelled, we will contact you with the option of changing dates, moving to a different tour or receiving a full refund.
TOURS START ON 17 MAY 2021, WITH LIMITED NUMBERS
The brighter news is that tours can take place from 17 May, however with limitations on the number of people who can take part.
We’ll continue to follow Government guidance on what procedures we must put in place to run tours between 17 May and 20 June.
Here’s what we know so far:
- Groups will be limited to six people, including our guide
- 2m social distancing will be required and masks must be worn indoors
- Museums and attractions will be open, and we’ll work with them to adhere to any restrictions they have in place
- Restaurants will be able to serve food and drink indoors
- We'll follow Government advice on requiring guests to show confirmation of vaccines or negative Covid tests
There has been much press coverage of destinations selling quickly since Monday’s announcement, and with limited numbers we expect our tours to fill, therefore we recommend you reserve your place with our low deposit if you’d like to join us.
FROM 21 JUNE 2021 THERE WILL BE NO RESTRICTIONS
The most promising part of the Government's announcement was that there will be no limits on mixing and travel from 21 June 2021. This means that we will be able to increase group sizes beyond six people, however we will still limit our small group tours to a maximum of 12.
The Government is due to make further announcements over the next few weeks, but you can rest assured that we will always follow their recommendations fully, and we will always take a common sense approach to keeping our customers and team members safe and healthy.
You can see our updated calendar of tours here.
OUR MONEY-BACK COVID GUARANTEE WILL CONTINUE
We are hopeful that 21 June 2021 really will signal the end of lockdowns and travel restrictions, but one thing the past 18 months has taught us it to expect the unexpected, so our COVID money-back guarantee will stay in place. This means that if we cancel the tour or you cannot travel because of COVID restrictions, we’ll refund your money in full or change your dates free of charge.
After such a tough 18 months for all of us, it is liberating to have a summer season to look forward to, and we sincerely hope that you can join us on one of our exciting history holidays later in the year.
Thanks so much for your continued support and patience.
