Christopher Chanter

Historian with a personal perspective of Britain's role on the Western Front in World War I
Christopher Chanter is an experienced and renowned historian and writer who has led many tours, lectures and study days of First World War locations. Previously, he was chairman of Historic Buildings Committee, Somerset Archaeology and Natural History Society, correspondent to the Council of British Archaeology.
 

Christopher leads our tour discovering the Western Front in Flanders during the First World War. He brings a personal perspective to events as his wife, Emma, is the great granddaughter of the first Commander in Chief of the British Expeditionary Force, Field Marshal Sir John French later 1st Earl of Ypres.
